Please join us to celebrate the arrival of summer. Share the evening with winemaker John Ritchey. Pre-dinner reception & hors d’ouevres. Five course Italian feast prepared by the chefs of Five Star. Celebrate the release of our 2011 Terra Cotta Red & 2010 Syrah. A wonderful evening of food & wine under the stars. Togas are optional (for the brave at heart) & olive wreaths will be provided. Summer passport is fun in the sun! Taste our wines and walk in the vineyard to see the fruit beginning to ripen. Plus a jewelry show and sale by designer April Martin and paintings by Devika Keskar. Passports are available at the winery and are valid for one visit only to 50+ participating wineries (at one of four Passport Saturdays each year.) Light appetizers will be served for your enjoyment while wine tasting. Picnic tables are available for use.

Saturday, August 24 - Annual Harvest Party, Fall Wine Release & BBQ - Noon-5 pm
An event you will not want to miss... Please join the Nicholson family and friends for our annual harvest celebration and release party. This year, we will again be heating up the grill for a wonderful chicken and tri-tip bbq that will include all of the fixings to satisfy the hungriest appetite. Don't be afraid to get dirty when you climb in the barrels to do a little grape stomping. Its harder than it looks!
Harvest is the perfect time to celebrate the release of our newest wines. Futures that have been purchased will be available for pickup at the event. Barrel samples of our unreleased wines will also be available for everyone's enjoyment. The event does sell out, so get your tickets early. Hope you can join us! Visit our booth at the Art and Wine Festival in Capitola on Saturday or Sunday, 10 am-6 pm. It is a great venue for wine tasting, strolling along the Esplanade and browsing through the artists tents. Great festival deals will be offered on wine purchases. **Please note that the winery will be closed this weekend.

NICHOLSON VINEYARDS WINS 3 SILVER AWARDS
IN CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR WINE COMPETITION
Nicholson Vineyards won three Silver Awards at the recent 2012 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition. The judges recognized our 2009 Old Vine Zin, 2008 Syrah and 2009 Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains, Peter Martin Ray Vineyard.
The California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition is the oldest and most prestigious judged wine competition in the nation. With more than 2,500 entries from more than 600 wineries, the competition is so large it takes place prior to the fair.The competition was held June 6-8, 2012.
